After King Harald died on Aug. 28 at 89 following treatment for a rare blood condition, his only son Haakon, 53, assumed the throne as King Haakon VIII. His wife, Mette-Marit, 53, became Queen Mette-Marit and both now use the style "His/Her Majesty." Their eldest child was elevated to Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra. Queen Sonja retains the title of Queen but will no longer be styled "Her Majesty."
