AI recreation draws ire

President Trump posted a short AI-created video that showed him guiding a digitally rendered George Washington through proposed plans for a White House ballroom. The post included the caption, "Thank you, George, for some of your brilliant ideas on this great Military Complex/Ballroom! President DJT," and prompted social media critics to label the clip disturbing and delusional.

Court halts the ballroom

Trump unveiled the ballroom plan on July 31, 2025, and work began in September 2025. In April 2026 a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction stopping above-ground construction, and an appeals court later upheld that halt because Congress never approved the project.
