A devastating incident unfolded on the west coast of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, when an enormous wave swept four individuals into the sea, leading to their tragic deaths. In addition, one person remains unaccounted for. The event transpired just after 4 PM near the popular natural pools of Los Gigantes, located in the municipality of Santiago del Teide. At that time, numerous visitors were enjoying the enchanting scenery both on the rocks and in the water when suddenly, a powerful wave surged toward them, leading to chaos.

The emergency services reported that several people were carried away by the tumultuous waters, which reportedly included foreign tourists among those affected. A rescue helicopter successfully retrieved one person alive, while another was tragically found deceased. Official reports later confirmed four fatalities.

Initially, the casualties included two men and one woman, aged 35 and 55, respectively. Eventually, a second woman succumbed to her injuries after being revived on-site and transported to the hospital. There is currently no information confirming the nationalities of the victims.
